Graphics Standards - Administrative Material

Stationery System

A comprehensive stationery system for the University is a key component of the identity system.

Letterhead

All University letterhead follows a standardized format with the listing of all locations. All text (Berkeley Oldstyle) and graphics are printed in ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app burgundy (PMS 202) on white, uncoated paper stock. Customized stationery is available for regional locations and certain offices/departments.

Business Cards

All business cards follow a standardized format with the Mission statement on the reverse side. Employees should contact their supervisor to discuss individual needs. Business card order forms are available on Blackboard. Send completed order forms to the Office of Marketing and Communications for processing.

Envelopes

All University envelopes follow a standardized format as well. All text and graphics are printed in ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app burgundy (PMS 202) on white, uncoated paper stock.

Purchasing stocks several standard envelopes in-house:

  • Standard #10 envelopes (letter size);
  • #10 window envelopes (letter size);
  • 6" x 9" envelopes; and
  • 10" x 13" envelopes.

Customized envelopes can be ordered through the Office of Marketing and Communications:

  • Business Reply Envelopes (BRE);
  • Standard #10 envelopes (letter size);
  • #10 window envelopes (letter size);
  • 6" x 9" envelopes; and
  • 10" x 13" envelopes.

Note Cards / Envelopes

Special departmental note cards and envelopes are also available from the Office of Marketing and Communications with the following specifications:

  • The University logo will be depicted on the front of the card in ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app burgundy (PMS 202). A limited number of departments and offices can use The ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app Flyer  (Alumni, Athletics).
  •  Note cards/envelopes are available on white or ivory stock.

Other materials

Nametags

All University nametags follow a standardized format containing the University seal, department name and employee name. Nametag order forms are available on Blackboard.  Send completed order forms to the Office of Marketing and Communications for processing.

Miscellaneous

The Office of Marketing and Communications will work with other University departments and offices to create the necessary artwork for additional printed materials (i.e., plaques, certificates or prizes, etc).

Miscellaneous Applications

Apparel/Merchandise

All logos and seals used on ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app apparel / merchandise must follow the color, size and variation guidelines previously discussed. To help ensure continuity, a separate merchandise committee has been formed to discuss and approve official merchandise and apparel designs. Some of the guidelines approved are:

  • The letters LU are not to be used as identification of ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app University;
  • The word ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app should not be used alone on items unless the full name (¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app) appears elsewhere on the item;
  • Patterned materials (except for plaid) are to be avoided unless cleared by the committee;
  • Shields and artwork resembling “official” logos are not to be included in ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app designs; and
  • All non-bookstore designs are to be cleared with the Office of Marketing and Communications.
Fleet Graphics

Fleet graphics, in the form of truck and van signage, are a mobile representation of ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app’s visual identity. These vehicles arrive and depart the campus daily, providing many opportunities to deliver consistent identification to the community at large. Therefore, vehicles owned by ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app should incorporate the University logo as shown.
