¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app is not only Veteran friendly but also Veteran strong

¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app has been designated as a Military Friendly School by GI Jobs Magazine every year since the inception of the award in 2010.  ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app is committed to providing a quality education to our service members and their families and has done so for many years with success. During ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app’s long relationship with the military, we have tailored our education services to meet the varying needs of service members around the world. ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app Online was established to ensure that service members could continue their education at ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app, even if a change of duty (PCS/TDY) or other factors dictated reassignment to another geographical area.

We welcome active duty, reserve, and veteran military personnel as members of ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app University’s student community.  Your schedule and location are always changing. However, no matter what your circumstances, ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app University has the programs that work with the demands of military life, whether you attend classes on campus or online.  The ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app website has been developed especially for you. We want to make sure you get the information you need to achieve your education and career goals. If you have questions not addressed on this site or if you need additional assistance, please contact ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app’s Director of Veterans Affairs at (815) 836-5428 or sinskeep@lewisu.edu.

Veterans and service members receive individualized assistance in completing request forms such as financial benefits; and applications for the G.I. Bill, Federal Tuition Assistance, and Federal Student Aid programs.

Student Veterans of America and the ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app Chapter

Student Veterans of America envisions a nation where all student Veterans succeed in post-secondary programs and contribute to civilian society in meaningful ways. SVA provides the resources and support to do so through five major initiatives. We maintain a commitment to Support Chapters through leadership training, grants, and networking opportunities that facilitate the development of successful student-run organizations. An essential component of chapter work is advocating for supportive campus services and programs. At the national level, SVA’s Advocacy efforts ensure policies are not only supportive for Veterans in their transition to school and employment, but also for the entire military community. To best serve this large community, SVA Develops Partnerships with other organizations to provide scholarships, mentorships, employment, and benefits counseling. Yet, our support doesn’t end at graduation. Student Veterans of America is developing a networking program that will Connect Alumni Veterans with even more professional opportunities. These initiatives are designed to bring veterans closer to their degrees, yet little data exists on student Veterans academic performance. By Investing in Research, SVA hopes to fill that void and showcase student Veteran success.
