The Social Work Association (SWA)
The Social Work Association is a student club for undergraduates who have an interest in pursuing social justice. SWA is a recognized student organization of 抖阴黄色app. The Social Work Association hosts events that represent the memberships’ interests, largely targeting community affairs, social justice issues, community service, and fundraising. SWA is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of major.

The Masters of Social Work Association (MSWA)
The Masters of Social Work Association (MSWA) is the department’s organization for graduate-level social work students. This organization supports students’ interests in career building, networking, licensure preparation, fundraising, and social justice issues 鈥� all while providing a space for students to come together and form community with one another. Examples of student organized activities include career-focused events such as panels of professional speakers from various areas of social work, a series of LSW exam study sessions, and more. Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society
The Department of Social Work was accepted into the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society in 2011 (Rho Mu Chapter). Our Rho Mu Chapter is recognized as a student organization at 抖阴黄色app. The honor society is open to undergraduate and graduate students in the Social Work Program who meet eligibility requirements, which are set by the National Phi Alpha headquarters. Our chapter of Rho Mu is dedicated to bringing events to all social work majors around preparing for professional work as a social worker, professional identity, and professional opportunities. Students are inducted each spring.
Eligibility requirements for undergraduate and graduate social work students include:
- Curriculum: students need to have completed a minimum of 9 credit hours in Social Work, plus have completed at least 37.5% of the required coursework towards the degree.
- GPA: students need to have a GPA that falls in the top 35% of all Social Work majors in the program.

The Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD)
Founded in 1975, the is a voluntary, individual membership representing the interests of undergraduate education and practice in social work. Nearly 800 strong, the Association's includes BSW program directors, baccalaureate faculty, field coordinators, social work educators, practitioners, and our most valuable commodity: our students. Together we focus on excellence in education and practice to help our communities thrive. Student membership rates are available at a discounted price. The National Association of Social Work (NASW)
Founded in 1955, the National Association of Social Workers is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies. The Council of Social Work Education (CSWE)
Founded in 1952, the Council on Social Work Education is the national association representing social work education in the United States. Its members include over 800 accredited baccalaureate and master’s degree social work programs, as well as individual social work educators, practitioners, and agencies dedicated to advancing quality social work education. Through its many initiatives, activities, and centers, CSWE supports quality social work education and provides opportunities for leadership and professional development, so that social workers play a central role in achieving the profession’s goals of social and economic justice. CSWE’s Commission on Accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in the United States and its territories.
