Dr. Jamil Mustafa Named Co-Editor of Gothic Studies

Dr. Jamil Mustafa, professor of English Studies, has been named co-editor of , the leading journal in the field of Gothic scholarship and the official journal of the .

Published by Edinburgh University Press, Gothic Studies features cutting-edge criticism of texts produced from the eighteenth century to the present, including but not limited to the written word. Interdisciplinary scholarship is especially welcome, as are studies of works across the range of media. 

Gothic Studies publishes two special issues and one general issue each year. The first issue, edited by Mustafa, was published in March. With Dr. Emily Alder of Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, Mustafa is responsible for overseeing each issue's conception, review, editing, and production, leading the editorial team, and liaising with Edinburgh University Press. 

He will also serve on the Executive Committee and the Advisory Board of the International Gothic Association. Mustafa has been a member of the IGA since 2005. In 2019, he hosted the first conference held by the organization in the United States, Gothic Terror, Gothic Horror, at ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app.
