The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced its postseason awards for the 2024 softball season and five members of the ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app softball team received All-GLVC Honors.   (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) led the way with her first-team honor,  (North Aurora, IL/West Aurora) and  (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) were awarded second team while  (Tolono, IL/Unity) and  (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln-Way East) earned third team. 

Garden, a two-way player, earned first-team honors because she is currently 17-6 with a 1.25 ERA (which ranks second in GLVC) in 162 innings pitched (fourth in GLVC) while also throwing 181 strikeouts (third in GLVC) and issuing only 18 walks (second fewest in GLVC). The Carpentersville, Illinois native also leads the team with a .382 batting average (seventh in the GLVC), 66 total hits (third in GLVC), 15 doubles (seventh in GLVC) and 26 runs scored.

Garden captured GLVC Pitcher of the Week on March 25 after throwing a complete game shutout against Rockhurst while only allowing one base runner which came in the seventh inning and striking out 14 batters. 

Nilles, a utility player, was awarded second-team, by currently having a .354 batting average with 45 total hits, 11 doubles, 20 runs scored and 25 RBI. The North Aurora, Illinois native also recorded 123 putouts with 14 assists in the field including throwing out six of 10 stolen base attempts as a catcher so far this season.

Wondrasek, a pitcher, was named second-team, and currently owns a 14-3 record in the circle with a 1.37 ERA (fourth in GLVC) in 112.1 innings pitched. The New Lenox, Illinois native threw a no-hitter earlier this season against St. Thomas Aquinas and was winner of GLVC Pitcher of the Week on April 1 where the sophomore went 3-0 including a victory against Grand Valley State. 

Powell, a third basemen, received third team by hitting .327 so far on the season and recording seven home runs (tenth in GLVC) which was second on the team, 24 runs scored and a team-high 34 RBI (tenth in GLVC). The infielder has recorded 34 putouts and 73 assists so far.

Wuske, a two-way player, was presented third team with her 4-3 record on the mound and has a 1.51 ERA including a complete game on senior day where she only allowed two hits and one unearned run. The Frankfort, Illinois native also recorded 28 hits at the plate, 20 runs scored and 14 RBI to date.

 (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way Central) was named the ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app Softball GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Honoree.



¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app softball competes in the GLVC Softball Tournament which is set to take place Thursday, May 2-Sunday, May 5 in East Peoria, Illinois. The Flyers are the second seed and will take on seventh seeded Missouri S&T Thursday, May 2 at 3 p.m. CT for the opening round. Follow all the action at .
