CULTURE OF ASSESSMENT

A strong institutional culture of assessment is characterized by faculty ownership, the sharing of information, and celebration of success. At ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app we have several mechanisms incorporated to cultivate a culture of assessment.

ASSESSMENT COMMITTEES

The ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app Assessment Committee is a representative body comprised of members from the colleges, departments, and administrative offices. In addition, each college has its own College Assessment Committee, and there is a Co-Curricular Assessment Committee, to ensure there is diversity of groups and individuals engaged in the assessment activities across the University. Without the disciplinary expertise of faculty and staff, authentic assessment that leads to continuous quality improvement would be impossible.

TRANSPARENCY

The results of institutional research, university assessment, and program assessment are all available to the university community through the my¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app portal. Presentations of data from the Performance Indicator Review Committee (PIRC), University and program assessment reports, summary reports from College Assessment Committees, and the minutes of the University Assessment Committee meetings are all available under the Accreditation and Assessment tab. Selected reports are available to the public under ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW.

Institutional demographics, enrollment reports, common datasets and IPEDS data feedback are all available publicly through the Office of Institutional Research and Planning.

CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS

Each year during May Institute, the University community celebrates assessment efforts with the Assesstival! poster session. Posters from all departments and units showcase assessment at the University, program, co-curricular, and course level.
