¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and Northern Illinois University (NIU) have partnered to let you obtain your Physics, B.S. from ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and your Mechanical Engineering, B.S. from NIU.

How does the program work?

This program allows you to take advantage of the strengths of both ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and NIU. Your program starts at ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app with your core Engineering courses. By your fifth or sixth semester, you will be taking courses at both institutions.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Joint Program must be admitted by both ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and NIU. In addition, any current ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app student may, with ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app's permission, apply for the program, and will be considered for admission by NIU using its usual transfer student criteria. Students must meet ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and NIU criteria for satisfactory academic progress in order to remain in the Joint Program, including a minimum 2.75/4.0 GPA in their ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app courses. Transfer credit earned from other institutions prior to enrollment at ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app must meet NIU transfer credit requirements. For students enrolled in the Joint Program, NIU will accept transfer credit completed with a grade of "C" or better which has been accepted by ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app, provided the student has obtained prior ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and NIU approval by filing a student petition in accordance with existing ¶¶Òõ»ÆÉ«app and NIU regulations. NIU courses will be offered in DeKalb or at the Naperville Campus. Students must satisfy all published requirements of the institution granting the degree.
